Gone Daddy Gone
Friday, February 27th, 2009my teeth are gone. Jim lost both his bottom front teeth tonight, with a little help from me. I just got back from driving all over south jersey trying to find some $1 coins to put under his pillow.

Was a wawa hoagie that I ate in the parking lot for Jim’s karate studio. Thursdays are our busy day — we leave for OT right after Jim get home from school. At least our favorite bakery has a branch right down the street from the OT, I was able to get a couple little treats for when I got home. I got the boys McD’s (which I refuse to eat, but their sweet tea is fuel for my fire), which they ate in the car.
Thanks for the donations to Jim’s Math-a-Thon. And thanks for the certificate orders. This is the last week to do so, and at last count, Jim’s class was in third! If you want certificates, let me know, I can buy them and you can send/give me a check.
We’re having a quiet weekend. I just got the taxes done and filed their various ways (fax, e-file, and mail).
Link to Jim’s fundraising page — you can make a donation through the site. He got all 200 questions right, although there wasn’t really a way to get them wrong.
Last weeks snow storm:

Colin and Jim both refuse to wear gloves or mittens outside. Colin decided that he would wear my gloves for a little bit (this was before they came off). It was pretty cold, and after a while, he clombed up the front porch, started crying suddenly, holding out his bare hands, “COOOOOOOLLLLDDDD! COOOOOOOLLLLLLLDDDDD!”
How Jim dealt with it:

(he didn’t want to take a break from pokemon on tv)
Snowman from two weeks ago:

We had a nice weekend. Friday I took Jim to get his haircut, and we conned Colin into getting his shaggy mop cut too. He saw that Jim got a lollypop when he was done, and wanted one too. So we told him he needed to get his hair cut. That was enough to get him into the chair, but then the crying started when the cape came out. So we let him eat the lollypop while his hair was cut. By the time he was done, he was covered in a sticky hairy mess. But he was better than last time, and it looks much better than the butcher job I did last week. We also (finally!) got Jim his replacement glasses, after Colin mangled the frames before Christmas.
Jim started Social Skills again on Saturday. Most of the snow melted by Sunday. Yesterday afternoon I took Jim to Toys R Us to get a new Pokemon (wirelessly) for the DS game. We checked out Sam’s Club and BJ’s and ended up getting a new BJ’s membership — I go through a bag of flour a week, it seems, and was looking for where I could get it in bulk for less than the $1/pound I pay at the store. Sam’s Club actually seemed better for some things, but they didn’t have good flour.
Yesterday Dad brought home his W-4, so I’ll be doing the taxes for the rest of the week.
For once, we were in the “get the most” snow band yesterday. Probably about 9 inches. The drifts on either side of the driveway are taller than Colin. So, no school today. Jim says he’s a little disappointed, but watching Pokemon for the last hour has probably cured him of that.
I shoveled as much as I could in about an hour, I was getting tired and thirsty. But I got Dad’s car dug out, half of my side of the driveway dug, and the porch and walk up to it. Still have to dig out the big part of the sidewalk and the bottom of my side of the driveway.
I chose shoveling over Wii Fit today for my exercise. I went to the doctor’s yesterday, and he said he’s had a number of patients say that Wii Fit got them exercising. My cholesterol numbers keep going down (even though I feel like I haven’t been eating as well as I should). In 13 months, my total cholesterol went down 57 points (currently 155), and my LDL is finally a normal 99 (from 137)! The doctor said it’s the exercise getting my LDL down.
