ornament

Yesterday we got to go to Longwood Gardens. The holiday decorations are still up, but it was much less crowded than when we went two weeks ago. And the sunny day afforded some good picture taking.

The boys THOROUGHLY enjoyed the children’s garden. I forgot the advice to bring a change of clothes, and they ended up wearing the liners of their coats for the rest of the day, because they were drenched.

Last night was the pinnacle of pre-Christmas stress. Jim’s Christmas play was yesterday, which meant that I had two finish two costumes by yesterday morning (allowing time for the glue to dry), get the two costumes to school in the morning, and then attend the morning performance, taping it, and getting cute pictures. Fast forward to early evening, where I needed to haul both kids north for a medical appointment, and then get Jim back to school in time for the evening performance. We were late, but Dad saved us by meeting us at the door so we didn’t have to park blocks away and walk.

It’s done now, and the only stress is finishing the Christmas knits in time. Doesn’t matter that our tree just has lights on it, we’ll get around to that.

I can’t believe

I’m sitting here listening to Colin call, “Mom, Mom” just like a big guy. (He’s just woken up from his nap.)

Twice yesterday we were talking, and when he was asked, “Why not?”, his answer was, “Because.”. Simple as that.

or at least, a couple months ago.

I can play youtubes on my iphones. Which is great, except when I don’t get a signal, which is also usually when I am somewhere where I want to entertain the boys.

So this morning I bought five tv shows, so now I have about six hours of kid-friendly content on demand. go me!
